An image of a black hole appearing on the surface of Jupiter

On September 11, NASA’s Jupiter spacecraft Juno took a unique image of its 22nd orbit around the planet, and scientist Kevin Gill updated the image.

Juno photographed 4,885 miles above Jupiter’s clouds as a dark shadow appeared on Jupiter’s hemisphere.
While the shadow in this picture may seem like a black hole appearing to engulf Jupiter, the reality is not so terrifying. The real reason is that one of Jupiter’s many months passed between Lo and Jupiter.
